Could you describe your patient population?

Our program is situated in a diverse community. Our patient demographic breakdown at Erie Evanston/Skokie Health Center includes 35% identifying as Hispanic/Latino and 25% as Black/African American. 19% are best served in Spanish, but there are 77 different languages spoken by patients throughout Erie’s 13 locations. 75% of patients at our clinic are insured by Medicaid, and 15% are uninsured.

Where do residents live?

Our residents live all over! Many live in the Evanston and Rogers Park/Edgewater neighborhoods. Others enjoy living in downtown Chicago or the northwest suburbs.

What other residency programs do you work with?

 We have the privilege of working with University of Chicago residents from OB/GYN, Pediatrics, and Emergency Medicine programs, as well as Cook County Emergency Medicine and University of Chicago NorthShore Internal Medicine residents.

Do you work with medical students?

Yes! We work closely with medical students from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, particularly during our inpatient adult, inpatient pediatrics, and labor and delivery rotations.

Do you have any 24 hour call shifts?

No.

Is there another family medicine program associated with UChicago?

No, we are the one and only!
